The Price of Femininity

The Price of Femininity is a series of 12 posters I created that display the everyday and lifelong annoyances of being a woman. The posters are 10x14 black ink on fuchsia paper. All of the letters used were cut out of magazines and some was handwritten then scanned into Photoshop and Illustrator. The Comparison Will Kill You poster was the first poster created in this series. I wanted to challenge the way I go about designing. Normally I start in one of the Adobe programs but this time I wanted to create outside of this digital space. The word comparison was written with my own hair and then scanned. This poster represents how women have a standard when it comes to beauty and especially their hair.
